This is a free, walk-in legal clinic hosted by the Nebraska State Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project in collaboration with Legal Aid of Nebraska. This pro bono event brings lawyer and nonlawyer volunteers into communities where low-income residents work and live to provide brief, limited advice on civil issues. Volunteers work in teams to meet with walk-in visitors to answer legal questions on family law, debtor issues, landlord/tenant, name changes, powers of attorney, protection orders, small claims, record sealing and set aside, and immigration. Volunteers

  • provide brief, limited advice
  • assist with self-help forms comprehension and completion
  • make referrals to legal service providers
  • work in teams of lawyers and nonlawyers; prior experience not necessary
  • receive training materials before the event

Lunch and free one-hour ethics CLE 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
