The Nebraska Lawyers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 2003, the mission of the Nebraska Lawyers Foundation is to serve the public and the legal profession by securing contributions to support programs dedicated to the improvement of the legal profession and the administration of justice.
The Volunteer Lawyers Project receives funding from the NLF.
- Over 310,000 Nebraskans, or 17% of the state’s population, are income eligible for services from civil legal service providers.
- There are 11 counties in Nebraska with no lawyers and 19 more counties with three or fewer lawyers.
- Every year, VLP turns away thousands of applicants because of lack of resources.
Because of donations from NSBA members, VLP and its network of volunteer lawyers help more than 7,000 persons get access to legal information and assistance through VLP programs.
