Thank you for considering a donation to the Volunteer Lawyers Project. VLP depends on two things: Volunteers and Financial support
VLP is funded by a grant from the Nebraska Legal Services Fund and by the generous support of contributions made to VLP through the Nebraska Lawyers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. ONE gift to VLP through the Nebraska Lawyers Foundation makes a tremendous impact on someone who needs but cannot pay for legal services. Please review the many ways you can provide financial support to VLP programs. To make an immediate donation, click Donate.
Why Donate
Rule 3-506.1 of the Nebraska Rules of Professional Conduct provides that all lawyers should voluntarily contribute financial support to organizations that provide legal services to persons of limited means. Every year, VLP turns away more than 5,000 persons who contact staff for pro bono assistance. Your time and your financial support make a difference. In 2017, VLP and the network of volunteers helped more than 7,000 persons access a lawyer and legal information. Your donation helps
- victims of domestic violence get protection from an abuser
- parents get custody orders to spend time with a child
- low wage earners get relief from overwhelming debt
- terminally ill persons get necessary powers of attorney
- senior citizens needing a will and peace of mind
- countless thousands needing information about the law and court process
ONE lawyer…ONE donation…can make a tremendous difference.
